Background & Philosophy

Welcome to NinjAcademy! We are a family-owned Ninja Warrior gym proudly serving Ventura County families since 2019.

My name is Kevin Spooner, and my wife and I have had the privilege of serving local families through NinjAcademy for over 7 years. I am the head coach, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a former gymnastics instructor, I've trained with the Korean Olympic Taekwondo Team, and most recently I've had the opportunity to test the American Ninja Warrior courses while working as a ninja athletics coach for both kids and adults.

While we love obstacle courses, Ninja Warrior training, and athletic development, our mission has never been simply to create great athletes. Our goal is to help develop great people.

At NinjAcademy, we've designed a program that uses obstacle course athletics and foundational gymnastics to build strength, agility, coordination, and confidence. More importantly, every class is designed to help students develop focus, resilience, respect, self-control, and a strong work ethic.

We believe athletics are one of the greatest tools for building character. Whether a student dreams of competing on American Ninja Warrior or simply wants to become a more confident version of themselves, our goal is the same: to help every student discover what they're capable of and pursue excellence in everything they do.
